David & the Kings are All About Jesus

Luke 1:26-38

The Main Point: David & the Kings are all about Jesus.

A Promised Future King (2 Sam 7:1-16)

We needed God to send a king. (1 Sam 8:5b)

Jesus is the promised king.

The Promised Davidic King (Lk 1:26-28; 2 Sam 7:12)

Lk 2:4; 2 Tim 2:8; Rom 1:3; 2 Tim 2:8; Rev 22:16

We need a human king. (Rom 5:18-19)

The Promised Eternal King (Lk 1:29-33; 2 Sam 7:13, 16)

We need an eternal king. (Heb 1:3b; 12:2b; Heb 1:8; Acts 2:29-36; 1 Cor 15:17-19)

The Promised Divine King (Lk 1:34-38; 2 Sam 7:14;)

Jn 18:36

We need a perfect king. (Gen 1:28b; 1 Tim 2:5)
