Ministries
These are some of the ministries of First Baptist Church. If you are interested in helping in any of the areas, contact the person listed as the point of contact or contact the church office 760-252-2949. We especially need help in the chidren's Sunday School and Youth. To work in our Sunday School or youth you need to be a member of the church. A background check is required for anyone who will be working with children. The background checks are done through the church Child Protection Policy Team. MUSIC MINISTRIES
ADULT DEPARTMENT

Volunteers are needed in all areas of Children's Choirs. All volunteers must pass a background check before working with our children or youth.
SUNDAY SCHOOL - We are always in need of substitute teachers. There are lots of areas where voluteers are needed in our children's and youth Sunday School area. The main requirement for teaching a Sunday School class is that you must be a member of First Baptist Church. To just help with a class you do not have to be a member. VISITATION/EVANGELISM - Visit those who have asked to have a visit in theri home or have shown an interest in joining the church or want to make a spiritual decision. We visit those who are sick or have other needs. Deacons and Jim Webster 760-447-5636.
FOOD PANTRY - The food pantry is for our members who are in need of food on an emergency basis. Point of contact is Dora at 760-252-2949
DEAF MINISTRY - Sign language during the 11:00 worship service. Classes to learn sign language held on Monday nights. Beginning class at 7:00 pm and intermediate class at 6:00 pm. Contact Kathy Fierro for more information. 760-256-7032 Open to anyone interested in Deaf Ministry
PRAYER CHAIN - Contact Jane Lupac, Prayer Chain Leader, if you want a prayer request put on the prayer chain. We always need more prayer warriors. If you are interested in being a prayer leader contact Jane at 760-252-3946.
BUILDING AND GROUNDS MINISTRY - We need volunteers who have skills in building maintenance and repair, yard upkeep, plumbing, electrical, or just willing to put in some volunteer hours helping keep the buildings and grounds looking nice contact Mike Burt, 760-267-4309.
KITCHEN MINISTRY - Help with cooking and cleaning the kitchen. Organizing and keeping things clean is an ongoing project with the church kitchen. We always need volunteers to help in the kitchen. Point of contact is Tony or Gloria Wardell 760-252-2279.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH – Beth Mason – Provide stories, games, crafts and snack for children during the 11:00 worship service. For children who are 4 years old through 3rd grade.
